Camper Fire Griffin Road

Jan 21, 2018. Crews responded to a camper fire on Griffin Road at apx 16:50 hrs this afternoon. Chief 4 arrived on scene to a fully involved camper with the propane tank already venting. Engine 421 crew made a quick knock down on the fire. No injuries reported. The owners were not at home when the fire broke out. Crews on scene for just about an hour. Cochranton Fire Investigators are looking into the cause.

Cochranton responded to a motor vehicle accident on Rt 322 near Ridgeway Hill for a car vs tanker truck. The car lost control on the roads and struck the rear tires of the tanker trailer. No injuries were reported. Cochranton responded with Engine 421 and Engine 423.

Mulch Pile Fire Franklin Pike

Mulch Pile Fire @ Sawmill

Jan 10, 2018. Cochranton firemen responded to a reported mulch pile fire at 3225 Franklin Pike. A working sawmill. Chief 4 arrived to find a 100×200 pile 3 stories high well involved. The sawmill workers had been trying to put the fire out until it got out of control. Crews had to extinguish the fire due to the numerous building close to the pile. A ladder tk was used to work the fire from above as heavy equipment cut through the pile. Assisting Coch. were crews from West Mead 1, Vernon Central, Randolph, East Mead, Cooperstown, Utica, Rocky Grove and Blooming Valley.

Jan 8, 2018. Cochranton firemen assisted Sheaklyville FD with a working house fire on Georgetown Road at 14:30 hrs. Crews made a quick knockdown on the fire which started near the chimney from a wood burning stove. Fire also extended up the outside of the house to the attic and roof areas. Engine 421 and Engine 422 responded. No injuries on scene. The home was insured.
