Cochranton crews had a busy evening battling a working house fire around 5:30 pm on Shellenberger Road. Firemen also had to worry about the extreme cold weather this evening. Crews kept the fire from spreading to the garage but the home is a total loss. No injuries reported. Assisting Cochranton were crews from Greenwood, Sheakleyville, Vernon Central and West Mead 1. Engine 4-21

2016 Sutphen Engine. The Engine carries 1000 gallons of water, 25 gallons of foam and has a 2200 gpm pump. It has seating for six, with plenty of additional inside cab storage. The hose bed carries 1200 feet of 4″ supply line. It also has five 1 3/4 attack lines along with one 2 1/2 attack line. Compartments carry all the necessary tools and equipment needed on the fire ground, or accident scene. A folding light tower and remote monitor are a few of the new tools on the engine.
